Motivational Cliches and Improv Comedy

Here’s a video clip of me performing as part of a Comedy Night at the National Speakers Association:

The theme of the night was “Whose Cliche is it Anyway?” All the participants were given 8 “motivational cliches” and we each had to weave those into our own motivational speech.

I decided to perform mine improv comedy style.

• Sell the sizzle, not the steak
• Think outside the box
• Check up from the neck up
• We become what we think about
• Awaken the giant within
• You¹ve got to be hungry
• Build a bigger pie
• Think and grow rich
